Who this covers

Kathrine Leong Piano Lessons publishes a public studio page and runs a private studio management application that the piano teacher uses to organise her own lessons, schedule, and records. This policy covers both. There is no sign-up, and no student, parent, or visitor account exists: the only person who signs in is the teacher.

What the application accesses from Google

When the teacher chooses to connect her Google Calendar, Google asks her to grant two permissions: reading her calendar, and reading and writing calendar events. The application uses them for one purpose only, which is keeping the studio lesson schedule in step with the calendar she already keeps.

From each calendar event the application stores:

• the event identifier, so the same lesson is never recorded twice;
• the event title and location;
• the start and end time;
• whether the event is still scheduled or has been cancelled;
• the time Google last modified the event.

Nothing else is read from the Google account. Contacts, email, files, and photos are never requested and never accessed.

Where the information is kept

Studio records are held in a private Supabase PostgreSQL database. The Google access and refresh tokens are stored in a server-only table that the browser cannot reach and that ordinary signed-in queries are refused; only server-side code holding the service credential can read them. Tokens are never sent to the browser and never appear in a web page.

What is never done with Google information

• It is never sold, rented, or transferred to anyone.
• It is never used for advertising, profiling, or marketing of any kind.
• It is never used to train machine learning or artificial intelligence models.
• No person other than the teacher reads it.

The use and transfer of information received from Google APIs by this application adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Other studio information

Separately from Google, the teacher records the information she needs to run the studio: student names, lesson times and locations, lesson and travel fees, payment records, and her own notes about lessons. This is entered by the teacher, is visible only to her, and is used for no purpose other than teaching and billing her own students.

Visits to the public studio page

When someone reads the public studio page, the page records how the visit went, so the teacher can see what parents look for and improve the page. It records:

• a random identifier created by your browser and kept in its local storage, which is not derived from you, your device, or your network;
• when you visited, the language you read the page in, which parts of it were on screen and for how long;
• clicks on the page's buttons, on the email address, and on links to other websites;
• how you arrived: the name of the website that linked to the page (not the page within it), and any campaign tags carried by the link;
• the country, region, and city your visit appears to come from, as estimated by the hosting provider from your network address;
• the kind of device, browser, and operating system.

Your IP address is not stored, and neither is your browser's full identifying string. No cookie is set for this purpose, no third-party analytics or advertising service receives anything, and nothing is used for advertising or shared with anyone. The teacher sees a simple score that counts actions such as returning to the page or reading the course prices; it helps her notice interest, and no decision about anyone is made from it.

Visitors from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland are measured only after agreeing on the page. Anywhere, measurement can be switched off in a browser at any time — switch off visit measurement in this browser — and a browser that sends the Global Privacy Control signal is never measured. Details of what was read are deleted after 180 days, and the record of each visit after 400 days.

Messages sent through the enquiry form

If you send a message through the form on the studio page, the studio stores your name, the address you asked to be answered at, and your message, so that the teacher can reply. If visit measurement is on in your browser, the message is linked to that browser's earlier visits, so the teacher can see what you read before writing. Messages are read only by the teacher and are kept until they are no longer needed or you ask for them to be deleted.

Withdrawing access and deleting information

Calendar access can be withdrawn at any time from the Google account permissions page. Doing so immediately stops the application from reading the calendar. To have stored information deleted — including a message you sent or the record of your visits — write to the address below and it will be removed.
